LC Call Numbers

The material on our shelves is filed using the Library of Congress Classification system, simply called LC. You can learn more about how it came into existance here: http://www.loc.gov/catdir/cpso/lcc.html Basically LC takes all knowledge and places it into one of 21 categories (techically called 'classes') identified by a letter. Each one of these 'classes is further broken down. For example, anything in N pertains to Art, anything in NA has to do with Architecture.
