Research Advice

Helpful tips on conducting research and finding information.

Giving credit where credit is due.

Now you have some quality sources of information that are perfect for your research paper.  You are about to start writing, and are going to include quotes and other information from the sources you found.

Stop because there is another very important thing you want to do before you even start writing, and that is to keep track of your sources, where they came from, and their citation information.  This way you give credit to the creators of the information and you will know where each quote or reference came from before you include it in your paper.  Doing this makes it easier to create the in-text citations and bibliography or works cite page you will need to have.

If you do not include information about the sources of your information and copy their work into yours that is called Plagiarism and it is a form of intellectual property theft...key word theft.

We have an entire guide all about how to cite your sources, why you should, and tools to help you.
