A DOI (digital object identifier) is a unique number used to identify content and provide a link to the journal article on the internet. If DOI's are included with your journal article, you should include them as its web address. Here's an example of a DOI: http://doi.org/10.1186/1471-2288-12-114 The APA Blog has a flowchart.
