Tutoring in the Learning Commons

Need help with tutoring? Click "Book Now" to view the schedules for and book an appointment with the Math & Science Center and the Writing Center.

Math & Science Center

The Math & Science Center provides FREE support tutoring services in Math and Science. Students may drop in for support, encouragement, or more in-depth individual tutoring to master a problem.

To receive tutoring, first schedule an appointment through Appointment Plus (http://bit.ly/CMCCtutoring). For face to face or in-person tutoring sessions, simply come to the Learning Commons at your appointment time. If you scheduled ONLINE math or science tutoring through Appointment Plus, your tutor will email you the Zoom web link to connect to your session.

For more information or to request an individual appointment,
please email the Math & Science Center at MathScienceCenter@cmcc.edu.

The Writing Center

The Writing Center provides FREE writing assistance for all CMCC students. There are three options available to our students.

In-Person: Students are encouraged to bring their writing assignments and drafts to the Writing Center for help with organization, revision, grammar, and MLA/APA documentation styles. For in-person tutoring sessions, simply come to the Learning Commons at your appointment time.

Online: The Online Writing Center is available through CMConnect for students taking online classes. Students upload their work in the CMConnect Online Writing Center course page. A Writing Center tutor will respond within two business days.

Virtual: The Virtual Writing Center provides the same service as the in-person Writing Center using live Zoom video conferencing. To receive virtual tutoring, first schedule an appointment through AppointmentPlus (http://bit.ly/CMCCtutoring). Once you make an appointment, you can start the Zoom meeting using the links provided on the confirmation page. For instructions on how to start a meeting, view the Zoom Student Guide
