#TheatreAppreciation is a textbook for introductory level lecture classes such as Theatre Appreciation and Introduction to Theatre. It provides insight about the art and craft of theatre, a brief exploration of theatre history, and discussion about the styles and forms of theatre along with an overview of professions in the field.

Art is works produced by human creative imagination and skills to express emotions, beauty, ideas, stories. Art has a vast and complex meaning not able to be enveloped by a single answer. Exploring the visual and performing arts (Art, Music, Dance, Theater) provides a person or student with a sense of richness and diversity of human achievement from the beginning of time to the present. Evaluating significant works of art will improve your ability to think critically and to communicate in an informed manner about the arts. Hopefully, you will develop a lifelong appreciation of and commitment to exploring the arts and creating value to the importance of the arts in your personal life and your community. This is a value that contributes greatly to the intellectual and creative growth of the individual. (note: chapters 7 - 11 deal with Theater)

Actors and the Art of Performance: Under Exposure combines the author's two main biographical paths: her professional commitment to the fields of both theatre and philosophy. The art of acting on stage is analysed here not only from the theoretical perspective of a spectator, but also from the perspective of the actor. The author draws on her experience as both a theatre actor and a university professor whose teachings in the art of acting rely heavily on her own experience and also on her philosophical knowledge. The book is unique not only in terms of its content but also in terms of its style. Written in a multiplicity of voices, the text oscillates between philosophical reasoning and narrative forms of writing, including micro-narratives, fables, parables, and inter alia by Carroll, Hoffmann and Kleist. Hence the book claims that a trans-disciplinary dialogue between the art of acting and the art of philosophical thinking calls for an aesthetical research that questions and begins to seek alternatives to traditionally established and ingrained formats of philosophy.
